Subject line: Message from President Utecht, UFCW Local 663
Dear Member,
As the pandemic of COVID-19 brings different challenges each day, I want to keep you updated on how we are working together as a union to advocate for safe workplaces and policies that protect our working families.
No matter what industry we work in, grocery, retail, nursing homes, meat packing and food processing, all of us deserve to be safe at work. Many of us are on the front lines everyday with the public, and we bring our professionalism, discipline and the guarantees of our union contract with us. Still, we need to remain vigilant for ourselves, families, and the public.
On the national level, we at United Food and Commercial Workers International Union and President Marc Perrone called on the The White House and Congress for IMMEDIATE action that will PROTECT workers and address the economic impact America’s workers are facing because of Coronavirus.
We’ve asked elected leaders to do the following to help workers hurt by Coronavirus:
✅Provide two weeks paid leave for ALL workers
✅Implement payroll tax cuts
✅Support workers with cut hours with aid
✅Protect workers at risk of losing their job
