Homestead at Anoka Nurses & Service and Maintenance members see significant gains in new contracts

By

Homestead at Anoka members ratified both the Nurses Contract which covers RNs and LPNs and the Service and Maintenance Contract which covers CNAs, HHAs, Dietary, Housekeeping, Life Enrichment, Cooks and Maintenance Departments.

The three-year agreements have substantial hourly wage increases in each year of the agreements for all classifications and increases to the wage scales. There is also a bonus based on hours of work. Some of the other improvements include, additional paid personal holidays, higher preceptor pay for training, a uniform allowance for Nurses and CNAs. Also included in both contracts is updated holiday pay language and new and updated worker protection language.

“We were able to secure a substantial raise that my coworkers and I are happy about. Thank you!”

Diane Horton, housekeeping at Homestead at Anoka for 14.5 years, and member of the union negotiating committee.

“I think the raises have boosted the morale! Morale was low with pandemic, after all, we have been frontline essential workers since Day 1. It is nice to get the bump in pay so we can do things outside of work. We feel more appreciated by the pay,”

Sue Peterson, RN at Homestead at Anoka for six years and member of union negotiations committee

I want to thank Secretary Treasurer Paul Crandall and both negotiating committees, Sue Peterson and Jennifer Sulick for the Nurses contract and Winnie King, Pam Cielinski, Diane Horton and Hattie Poole for the Service and Maintenance contract for all their hard work.
